"Michael
Finnegan's paintings are inextricably linked to photography, particularly contemporary imagery derived from cell phone
cameras—devises that follow us wherever we go these days and document virtually every aspect of contemporary life. In
addition, his paintings are process-rich, with the result that familiar scenes blur into expressive abstractions.”
